Role Overview
The Banking Advisor – Academy position is an entry-level developmental role within FNB’s Private Banking & Advisory Division. It serves as a foundation for talented financial professionals looking to build a long-term career in private and affluent banking. The role includes a structured 3 to 6-month training program designed to develop both technical and soft skills necessary for success in financial advisory.
The successful candidate will support Private Bankers in client acquisition, service delivery, and business development activities. Responsibilities include market research, financial analysis, managing client portfolios, and maintaining high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing a high-value client portfolio in collaboration with Private Bankers.

Identify and pursue new client acquisition opportunities and foster existing relationships.

Conduct thorough market analysis and research to support financial decision-making.

Promote FNB’s financial services to current and prospective clients.

Develop and maintain trust-based relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Support lead generation and business pipeline development through tracking and analysis.

Deliver outputs aligned with service standards and deadlines.

Foster a proactive approach to client service and continuous innovation.

Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and governance requirements.

Participate in training and mentorship programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field approved by FSCA.

RE5 Certificate (Regulatory Examination for Representatives).

2 to 3 years of experience in the financial services sector, preferably in Sales or Client Service.

Previous banking experience is highly preferred.

Must not be an unrehabilitated insolvent.

A clean credit record check is required in accordance with the National Credit Act (NCA).
