About the Project
You will be working on a project called BResilient, which is focused on using bamboo for reforestation in Madagascar. The goal is to help local communities by studying the climate and finding out how weather and extreme events (like cyclones) affect forests and other resources.
Your Role
Study climate data from satellites, weather stations, and computer models.
Understand the current and future climate in the region.
Study how extreme weather (e.g., cyclones) may become more or less common.
Use tools like remote sensing (satellite images) and machine learning to improve predictions.
Work with an international team of researchers in Scotland and Madagascar.
What You Need
Strong experience working with climate models and real-world weather data.
Interest in climate science and ability to work independently.
Ability to collaborate with international teams.
Experience writing scientific papers.
Knowledge of machine learning and statistics is a plus.
Good skills in analyzing and interpreting complex data.
