Job Summary
CRD is looking for young, dynamic, and hardworking professionals to join the growing Research Team as a Research Assistant. The successful candidate will support the team by drafting proposals, collecting and analyzing data, conducting field research, and helping with report writing and other research-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting Project Proposals: Assist in writing project proposals for research projects.
Develop Data Collection Tools: Help design tools for data collection.
Collecting Data: Use digital devices (mobile phones, tablets, computers) to collect data.
Field Research: Conduct field research activities such as Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), and Community Scorecards.
Transcribing Field Notes: Transcribe and organize field notes from FGDs, KIIs, and IDIs.
Translating Notes: Translate field notes from local languages into English.
Support in Report Writing: Assist in writing field reports, meeting notes, and observation reports.
Supervising Enumerators: Manage and guide enumerators who are involved in data collection.
Other Tasks: Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or management.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Women & Gender Studies, Political Science, Social Welfare, Urban and Regional Planning, Economics, Development Studies, International Relations, Education, or other related fields in Social Sciences.
Experience and Skills Requirements
Minimum 6 months of research experience, preferably with a similar organization.
Proficiency in transcribing and translating field notes/findings.
Strong written and spoken English skills for formal communication.
Fast typing skills in both Bengali and English.
Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data using software like MS Excel, SPSS, STATA, and NVIVO.
Experience with Data Collection Tools: Knowledge of tools like Kobo and ODK for developing data collection instruments.
Ability to Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to remote areas in Bangladesh.
Effective Time Management: Ability to work with deadlines and execute plans with specific targets.
Independent and Collaborative Worker: Comfortable working alone or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
High Integrity: Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: BDT 18,150 – 23,100 per month (negotiable based on experience).
