IT Support Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking motivated freshers or students who are about to complete their final year of studies to join our team. This role involves managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring that all systems run smoothly and efficiently. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s daily operations, as our business relies heavily on technology for its functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for managing various IT resources, including servers, databases, networks, and software applications.
• You must ensure that our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is always up and running, as the sales team uses it continuously from 8 AM to 8 PM. Any downtime could disrupt operations, so your primary task will be to prevent and quickly fix any issues.
• Troubleshooting will be a big part of your job. Whether it’s a network, software, or hardware issue, you’ll need to quickly diagnose and resolve the problem.
• You’ll be in charge of performing regular backups and restoring server images when needed, making sure no data is lost.
• Monitoring the security of IT systems is crucial. You will implement and manage security protocols such as VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), firewalls, and other measures to ensure the company’s data remains protected.

Skills and Knowledge: The ideal candidate should have a broad understanding of various IT systems, applications, and technologies, including:

• Programming: A basic understanding of programming languages will be necessary to manage certain applications or write scripts for automation.
• Database Management: Knowledge of how databases work, including setup, management, and troubleshooting, is essential.
• Networking: Familiarity with networks, routers, switches, and general IT infrastructure is required. You should be able to manage both wired and wireless networks.
• ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems is critical. Familiarity with specific systems like Weblogic, SAP-HANA, and SAPB1 (especially the Financial Suite) will be highly valued.
• Operating Systems: Experience with Linux operating systems is a must, as many of our systems run on Linux environments.
• Virtualization: You should understand the concept of virtualization and have experience using tools to create and manage virtual machines.
• Security Protocols: You will be managing security features like firewalls and VPNs, and ensuring that all systems are protected from external threats.

Soft Skills: In addition to technical skills, you must possess key soft skills, including:

• Strong Communication: You’ll need to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, especially when explaining technical issues to non-technical team members.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as you will be tasked with diagnosing and fixing various IT-related issues.
• Project Management: The ability to manage multiple IT projects, from planning to execution, is important. This includes keeping timelines and ensuring the completion of tasks.
• Leadership: You may need to lead small teams or work collaboratively with other departments. Team leadership and the ability to guide others will be useful.
• Stress Management: Given the nature of IT work, especially troubleshooting critical issues, the ability to work well under pressure is key.

Work Environment: Our company operates 100% online. The sales team relies heavily on the ERP system to manage daily transactions and other activities from 8 AM to 8 PM. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of this system during these hours and promptly addressing any IT issues that may arise.

Experience Required:

• We welcome applicants with 0-24 months of experience, meaning fresh graduates or those just starting their careers in IT are encouraged to apply.
