Estimate Engineer

📌 Position: Estimate Engineer
📍 Location: Vadodara
🏢 Company: One of India’s major producers of pressed and fabricated components, equipped with advanced facilities and a highly qualified workforce.

🎓 Qualification:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institute

Additional knowledge of costing software, AutoCAD, and ERP systems is desirable

Training or certification in Value Engineering or Cost Estimation will be an added advantage

🧑‍💼 Experience:
6 to 7 years of experience in Estimation Engineering in fabrication, metal component, or manufacturing industry

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, and surface treatment

Proven experience in preparing cost estimates, tender submissions, and technical-commercial proposals

🛠️ Key Job Responsibilities:
🔹 Quotation & Cost Estimation

Prepare detailed cost estimates for RFQs based on engineering drawings and customer requirements

Evaluate material, labor, machine time, subcontracting, and overhead costs

🔹 Technical Analysis

Interpret technical drawings and BOMs to define project scope and feasibility

Suggest cost-effective alternatives in design or material

🔹 Departmental Coordination

Collaborate with Design, Production, Purchase, and Sales teams to gather accurate cost inputs

Understand shop floor processes for job feasibility

🔹 Vendor & Subcontractor Interaction

Collect quotations for bought-out items and services

Maintain a vendor rate database for reference

🔹 Proposal Preparation

Develop and submit technical-commercial proposals in coordination with the Sales team

🔹 Documentation & MIS

Maintain records of costing sheets, proposal outcomes, and cost variance analysis

Generate regular MIS reports for management

✅ Desired Skills & Traits:
Strong analytical and numerical skills

Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and drawing interpretation

Excellent communication and coordination abilities

Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines

Good understanding of cost drivers in fabrication and precision engineering
