Salary: $25.37 to $26.90 per hour (negotiable), 30 to 40 hours per week

Job Duties:

• Help patients use bedpans and clean them.
• Check blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• Serve meals and help patients eat.
• Help lift, turn, and move patients.
• Make beds and clean patient rooms.
• Help patients bathe, dress, and groom.
• Move patients using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Collect samples for medical tests.
• Provide first aid in emergencies.
• Offer personal care and companionship.
• Do light cleaning and laundry.
• Give bedside care and help with hygiene.
• Feed or help feed patients.

Job Requirements:

• Must speak and understand English.
• Must have a 1–2 year college certificate or diploma.
• Experience is helpful but not required.
• Must have certificates:
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • First Aid
  • CPR
  • Nursing Aide
  • Health Care Aide
  • Personal Support Worker

Work Environment:

• May need to move to another city for the job.
• Work in a nursing home for elderly or long-term care residents.
• Staff housing may be available.

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a background check and tuberculosis test.
• Must have proof of vaccinations.
• Must provide references.

Physical Requirements:

• Work in a busy, fast-paced place
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods
• Must be able to do physically hard work
