About the Job:

Kingsford Farms is looking for full-time Agricultural Technicians to join our beef cattle farm in Victoria Hill, Queensland.

We are searching for people who are passionate about cattle farming and have experience in working with beef cattle in an intensive farming setting.

Main Duties:

• Help manage the reproduction of the cattle herd, including:

  • Watching for heat signs

  • Doing artificial insemination

  • Checking for pregnancy

• Spot and treat common cattle illnesses

• Keep records of cattle health and treatments

• Work with the farm manager and vet when needed

• Use computer systems to enter and find cattle data

• Operate heavy farm machines to mix and deliver cattle feed (based on a recipe from a nutritionist)

• Help grow and manage feed crops, including:

  • Making silage and hay

  • Spotting crop diseases and pests

  • Helping plan ways to protect the crops

• Collect samples like:

  • Plant or feed samples

  • Tissue samples for DNA testing

• Give advice about farm work and methods

• Work well alone or with others

Requirements:

• A diploma, advanced diploma, or associate degree (or something similar)

• At least 2 years of experience in intensive beef cattle farming

• Good knowledge of cattle reproduction and care

• Able to work with computers and farm software

• Experience using large farming machines

• Good understanding of crop growing and feed production

• Speak and understand English well

• A current Australian driver’s licence (preferred)

• Must be allowed to work in Australia

Schedule:

• Day shifts

• May include weekends, public holidays, and rotating rosters

• Overtime work may be required

Pay and Benefits:

• Salary: $73,150 – $80,000 per year

• Superannuation included
